Racing Classes and Rules

The classes for the various rules are listed below:
65cc
85cc/Supermini
125cc Novice
250cc Novice
125cc Intermediate
250cc Intermediate

All classes are a two stroke designation so 250cc four strokes would race with the 125cc two strokes and 450cc four strokes race with the 250cc two strokes.  Honda's 150cc four stroke would race in the 85cc/Supermini class.

We will also race quads if more than two quads are present. If there exists enough interest to run a women's class and/or a beginners class then that could certainly be done.

An individual's season race points are determined by adding the top eight race finishes (11 races total) and at least four races must be raced to qualify for series awards at the end of the year.

There are two motos (heats) per race, and the score from both of these motos are added together to give the final race score. The racer with the highest score after both races is declared the winner. If there is a tie, the racer with the higher score in the second moto wins. The points obtained for the various positions are listed below:

Position Points
1st    25
2nd   22
3rd    20
4th    18
5th    16
6th    15
The points decrease by 1 after 6th place, down to 1 point for 20th place.

The MDRA's racing rules are based on the ADRA rules, which are based on the CMRC rules. Those rules can be found in the rulebook found here.

Finally, it is important to note that because the MDRA is a relatively small club, the rules can be flexible. The Board of Directors will make the final decision on if any of the rules can be altered and these will always be situation specific.
